Dear Marina Village Families,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! This is my sixth year as principal of Marina Village Middle School and I am excited to welcome your students to our Ohana! Marina Village will be starting its 42nd year and has a history of excellence in serving students and the community and I am honored and proud to serve as the principal of this school. I also feel fortunate to be part of a community that is so dedicated to impacting the lives of students in such a positive way and I look forward to working with you in this most worthy endeavor. I look forward to getting to know your students and watching them grow academically and socially throughout the year.

I have been working in education for 23 years. Before coming to Marina, I taught at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. These experiences at various schools have developed and continued to reinforce a guiding principle for me that a science teacher at another school put so succinctly, “It’s all about the kids.” Being student-focused has been a touchstone for me in guiding my decisions and is a constant reminder to me of the importance of the work that we do. This philosophy is also a hallmark of Marina Village Middle School. I am grateful to be a part of a dedicated staff and district where the spirit of Ohana fills the school and community.

Marina Village will continue with our implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) which will help us continue to provide a safe and effective learning environment for all students. The purpose is to establish a climate where behavior expectations are clear and appropriate behaviors are the norm. We will continue to teach positive behaviors throughout the year that will strengthen and support our Ohana.

Marina Village continued to provide a variety of rigorous and enriching classes and activities that allow our students to get connected and stay connected to our school community. Our Project Lead the Way science classes, music performance classes, leadership, art, and advanced math are just a few of the enrichment opportunities that students can take advantage of while here at Marina Village. We also have athletic teams that are consistently winning and in the running for league titles. Our amazing parent-teacher club also provides after-school enrichment opportunities for students. We encourage students to get involved and participate as a member of our Ohana.

I would like to welcome everyone back to school and feel fortunate to be part of such a wonderful community. I am privileged to lead such an outstanding school community and know that this will be an outstanding year for our students.  Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions, concerns, or input at any time. GO MUSTANGS!!!!
